A technical innovation increasing the joint strength of push-fit fittings in drain and extraction systems

The patented POLO-ASV collar has been created specifically to protect the push-fit fittings in the POLO-KAL NG drainage system against detachment when subjected to high strain. This is a device that prevents detachment by increasing the traction and pressure resistance of the joint. The POLO-ASV collar is very simple to install and still allows the joint to rotate completely, and can be quickly removed if it is necessary to disconnect the joint. The joint restraint capability of the POLO-ASV collar has been tested and certified with the POLO-KAL NG system, preventing detachment at up to 100 Kg with a maximum internal pressure of 1.5 bar.

The restraint function of the POLO-ASV collar extends the applicability of the POLO-KAL NG system

The POLO-ASV restraint collar – available in 32, 40, 50, 75, 90, 110, 125, 160, 200 and 250 mm diameters – can be used in a multitude of situations. For example, it may be used when a joint of the POLO-KAL NG system is exposed to high positive or negative pressures (up to 2 bar) in a pumping system lifting drain water to sewer height, or to ensure seal tightness in rainwater downpipes up to 20 metres in height, in the event of filling after heavy rainfall. The POLO-ASV restraint collar may also be used in applications where the joint is subjected to mechanical stress, such as: in buildings where the drainage system may be exposed to accidental knocks, in tower buildings to withstand water hammer phenomena caused by changes in direction (especially at the base of the stack), and as a tamper-proof retainer for provisional sealing caps.
