GREENTHERM: a superior quality random copolymer PP for plumbing and heating systems

Bampi has offered the GREENTHERM random copolymer polypropylene system for domestic water distribution and heating applications since 1996. Based on technology with reliability proven in over a decade of use, the plastic welding process used to join pipes and fittings in random copolymer polypropylene is a tried and tested solution chosen by many installers. Because of this, Bampi decided to create GREENTHERM, a superior quality system (type 3 PP.R) consisting of: fittings with high strength brass inserts, adequate fitting thicknesses for rated pressures up to 25 bar and a PP.R inner coating on threaded male brass inserts in a wide variety of configurations and diameters.

The superior technical properties of random copolymer polypropylene

In addition to its suitability for water applications, as it is impervious to limescale and other deposits, minimising pressure losses, the GREENTHERM system in random copolymer polypropylene is also a poor heat conductor, drastically reducing the formation of condensation and heat losses from the transported fluid, which translates to substantial energy savings. The elasticity of the material and its superior soundproofing properties significantly reduce the noise levels of the installation, while its flexibility means that it can also be used in areas with high seismic activity.

Countless opportunities for use in compliance with the strictest legislation and standards

The system in GREENTHERM PP.R offers extraordinary reliability for domestic water and heating installations (in compliance with the standard UNI EN ISO 15874:2008); air conditioning installations (in compliance with the standard UNI EN ISO 122421:2009); compressed air lines; circuits for the transport of drinkable fluids and foodstuff liquids (in compliance with Italian Ministerial Decree 174 of 6 April 2004); irrigation systems; and other industrial applications.

Italian Ministerial Decree 37/2008 requires a declaration of conformity for all installations

Note that, irrespective of their intended use, all applications of the GREENTHERM system in random copolymer PP in installations within buildings are subject to Italian Ministerial Decree 37 of 2008, which requires that the installation is realised in compliance with proper working practices and also requires a declaration of conformity for the installation itself. Every stage in the installation must therefore be performed by persons with the necessary technical skills and meeting the requisites defined by applicable legislation and standards.
